Pedestrian Seriously Injured After Charlotte Crash
On Thursday, August 15, 2019, at around 9:26 p.m., an adult male pedestrian crossing South Tryon Street just north of John Price Road was struck by a Dodge Challenger. Police confirm the pedestrian stepped off the median and stepped out in front of a vehicle. The Challenger was traveling northbound on South Tryon Street in the inside lane when the accident happened. The victim sustained multiple broken bones according to sources. He was transported by paramedics to the trauma center at Atrium Health in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he is being treated for serious injuries. The driver of the vehicle involved was not injured. Neither speed or alcohol are suspected to be a factor for the driver or the vehicle. Northbound South Tryon Street was closed for approximately two hours while police investigated the crash.
