Police Discover Stolen Vehicle After Suspect Crashes

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police discovered stolen vehicle after suspect crashed in woods of South Charlotte neighborhood.

On Tuesday, September 17, 2019, at 1:17 a.m., Police discovered a stolen vehicle after a 911 call reported a crash. Initial reports indicated that police were possibly chasing the vehicle in question at the time. Police later confirmed a chase had not occurred. According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, officers responded to 7625 Kings Ridge Drive where they found the dark colored vehicle after it crashed. The vehicle took a destructive path down Kings Ridge Road and slammed into a wooded ditch. Police arrested the suspect shortly after making the discovery. Paramedics transported one person to the hospital for treatment of injuries. Crime Scene technicians spent the morning processing the scene and collecting pieces of evidence within the vehicle. A Crime Scene technician with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department swept the vehicle for fingerprints, photographed the vehicle and contents inside. Items could been seen being bagged by crime scene technicians at the crash scene.
