Two adult men were shot on S. Tryon St after being followed by a vehicle leaving a Charlotte Club early Wednesday.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department responded to a reported double shooting at a south Charlotte fast food restaurant early Wednesday morning. CMPD officers arrived at the McDonalds located at 4440 S. Tryon Street. When officers arrived, they found an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

The investigation has revealed that the victim who was shot, as well as a 2nd adult male victim were driving separate vehicles when they left the parking lot of Club Onyx on Old Pineville Road. The victims told police unknown suspect(s) in a separate vehicle followed them out of the parking lot of the club. Police confirmed when the victims arrived at the intersection of Woodlawn Road and South Tryon Street, the suspect(s) began shooting at them. Both of the victim’s vehicles were struck by gunfire at that time. The adult male victim was transported by paramedics to Atrium Health’s Carolinas Medical Center where he is being treated for non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. The driver of the second vehicle was not injured.

Multiple shell casings were found scattered across South Tryon Street, and one of two vehicles had bullet holes within in the McDonald's parking lot. Police say they are still investigating a motive for this shooting. No arrests have been made.
