Burbank: According to Burbank Police Lieutenant Derek Green, "About 8:50 p.m. tonight we received a call with reports of a traffic collision involving a single vehicle and a pedestrian. Officers responded, when they arrived they found one male pedestrian who was down in the roadway. He was unconscious, he wasn't breathing, and they began to administer CPR. Paramedics arrived and administered first aid and life-saving measures, but unfortunately the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene."
"This investigation is still under investigation. The pedestrian was found in the roadway outside of a marked crosswalk. The motorist did stop and cooperated with the investigation. Right now we don't believe drugs or alcohol were a factor."
"Right now we don't know who the victim is. Our best guess right now, he's a male in his 60's, but again we have not positively identified him. The coroner's office is on their way to the scene, and they'll be responsible for actually identifying the victim and notifying next of kin."
The incident occurred on Saturday night, Mar. 20, 2021, near the intersection of Victory Boulevard and Buena Vista Street. Burbank Police Lieutenant Derek Green is seen interviewed by Key News in this video regarding the incident.
