Man Shot to Death in Maywood

Los Angeles: A man was pronounced dead from a gunshot wound after attempted life-saving measures on Sunday night, Feb.14, in the City of Maywood, the southeast part of Los Angeles. Deputies from the East Los Angeles Sheriff's Station responded to the shooting that was reported around 8:43 p.m. in the 3500 block of East 56th Street, according to Deputy Tracy Koerner of the Sheriff's Information Bureau. Lieutenant Robert Westphal with the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau who was interviewed at the scene on camera, said the victim appeared to be visiting friends but the series of events leading up to the shooting are not known at this time.
The shooter has not been currently located. The Sheriff's Homicide Bureau is asking anyone with information regarding this incident to contact them at the number listed below or through Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous.
