LJ2020
Eagle Rock, CA: Around 4:00 p.m. Sunday, Los Angles City, County, as well as Glendale Firefighters responded to a call of a brush fire at the 2 and 134 freeways in the Eagle Rock area. The fire reportedly started in the 2900 block of W Colorado Boulevard. Smoke from the fire caused congested freeways as flames threatened homes.

Eight acres are currently fully involved, with the use of LAFD and LACF water dropping helicopters. Mandatory evacuations are in effect just east of the freeway.

According to fire department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart, the 134 was closed westbound side at Figueroa, and eastbound side at Glendale. The 2 (Glendale) freeway was closed at Mountain. No injuries or loss of homes are reported at this time.
