Driver Airlifted After Serious Accident on Northern State Parkway

A driver was airlifted from the westbound lanes of the Northern State Parkway in Plainview, New York.

A vehicle was involved in a serious accident Monday evening while traveling westbound on the Northern State Parkway. The accident, which was reported after 6:30 p.m., involved a single vehicle that was overturned when emergency services arrived on the scene. The driver was allegedly unconscious after the vehicle rolled over.

One occupant of the vehicle was airlifted from the scene by Nassau County Police to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

The Northern State Parkway remains shut down just west of the Manetto Hill Road entrance due to an ongoing police investigation.

UPDATE: New York State Police confirm that only one person was injured in the serious accident.

The Northern State Parkway is now reopen with traffic flowing in both directions.
