Long Island Gas Station Explosion Hospitalizes One

A gas station explosion in Copiague, New York is now under investigation by fire officials.

Late Monday evening, just after 10:45pm, emergency services recieved a 911 call about a gas station explosion in Copiague, New York. The explosion, which hospitalized one person, is now under investigation by fire officials.

Suffolk County Police and North Amityville Fire Department responded to the QuikCheck Gas Station at 1147 Sunrise Highway.

Multiple vehicles were covered in the chemical extinguisher. One victim was transported to the hospital after they were covered entirely in the chemical extinguisher that automatically deployed when fire was detected at the pumps.
