Police Officer Injured After Patrol Car Crash

A Suffolk County Police Officer was injured after his patrol car crashed into a utility pole responding to emergency.

A Suffolk County Police Officer was injured Thursday morning after being involved in a crash while responding to an emergency. The accident occurred at approximately 7:35a.m. The officer was traveling westbound on Commack Road in Mastic Beach, New York responding to a call with lights and sirens activated, when her vehicle was struck by a 2013 Hyundai, traveling northbound on Diana Drive. The female officer and driver of the Hyundai were each transported to separate local hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. No charges are expected to be filed.
