Two-Alarm Fire Destroys Residence Displacing Family

A house fire results in a total loss and a family displaced in Walden, New York, Saturday afternoon.

On Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 1:28 p.m., a fire broke out inside a residence in Walden, NY. Pine Bush and Walden firefighters quickly arrived on-scene and began battling the blaze.

Assistance from neighboring agencies was sent from Pine Bush Fire Department, Walden Fire Department, Montgomery Fire Department,
and Coldenham Fire Department.

According to a fire official a second alarm fire response was requested at 1:36 p.m. According to officials, the structure is a complete loss with heavy damage on the top and bottom floors.

It is unclear at this point how the fire started. No injuries were reported. All occupants escaped successfully, including one dog who witnesses say was seen running out the front door of the burning structure.
