Two drivers are recovering after a traffic accident that sent one car into a utility pole in Hicksville, New York, late Wednesday evening. Sources say that the vehicle collided with the power utility pole on Stewart Avenue at around 7:35 p.m. A second vehicle was also involved in the collision. The airbags in both vehicles deployed at the moment they collided. The intersection of Stewart Avenue and Adobe Lane was the scene of a heavy emergency service presence as a response to this accident.
Both drivers have been transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation in an unknown condition.
Stewart Avenue is now reopened to vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
