Amtrak Train Hits and Destroys Vehicle, Driver Taken into Custody, No Injuries

Jacob Kimerer

There is nothing left of what can only be described as a red vehicle after Amtrak trains strikes it.

Puyallup, WA: Just after 10 p.m., emergency responders with Puyallup Police and Central Pierce Fire and Rescue responded to the 200 block of North Meridian in downtown for a reported vehicle versus a train collision.

When units arrived, they found what was left of a red vehicle after it was struck by an Amtrak train. The driver of that red vehicle was able to escape prior to the collision but is now in custody.

Overall, no injuries to anyone on the train or the driver.

Multiple railroad crossings are closed while police investigate and clean up all the car parts.
