Armed Security/Victim Fires at Suspect in Domestic at Occupied Church

Armed security/victim fires weapon at suspect during domestic incident at occupied church.

Kent, WA: Kent Police responded to a shots fired call at the New Beginning Christian Church just after 5 p.m. today.

Call originally came in as a shooting with a victim, but once first responders arrived, they found no one had been shot and a suspect was detained at gunpoint.

Kent Police have confirmed that the victim, who is legally allowed to carry a firearm, fired at the suspect in self-defense after they attempted to shoot them but their weapon malfunctioned.

Kent Police have stated they are looking into this incident as a domestic violence type incident.

At this time, the suspect, victim, nor the several people inside the church sustained no injuries during this shooting.

Still working to get more information from Kent Police on this incident.
