Auburn, WA: Just before 1 p.m. today, crews with Valley Regional Fire were dispatched to the 2800 block of D Street for a reported residential structure fire. Once crews arrived, they encountered smoke and flash from the back of the residence near the chimney.

Crews made an aggressive interior to cut off the fire that spread into the attic space.

Crews did treat two patients for smoke inhalation. One patient, an adult male, was treated and transported to Multi-Care Auburn Medical Center for further evaluation.

Red Cross is responding to assist two adults and two children that were displaced.

Cause of the fire is under investigation.
