Des Moines House Fire Displaces Family Just Before Thanksgiving

A house fire in Des Moines displaces a family of six just days before Thanksgiving.

Des Moines, WA: Just after noon, crews from South King Fire and Puget Sound Fire were dispatched to the 1300 block of S 239th Place for a report of a house fire.

Crews from South King Fire Engine 367 arrived on scene and reported smoke coming from the roof of the home and Battalion 361 upgraded to a working house fire after also seeing smoke coming from the eave of the roof and cable vents.

After approximately ten minutes, crews reported that the fire was out.

Puget Sound Fire Public Information Officer Captain Root stated that there were no injuries to residents or firefighters but the fire did displace a family of six.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
