Disturbance Leaves 15-Year-Old Shot in Kent

Disturbance leads to shots fired. One injured in park full of children.

Kent,WA: At around 5:30p.m, Kent Police responded to a reported shooting in the 27300 block of 128 Pl SE. Crews found one young male in the middle of a crowded park in this King County housing complex known as Birch Creek.

The male was struck several times by gunfire and transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle in serious condition. Neighbors report that recent security upgrades to the complex in the form of CCTV cameras might help detectives identify a subject and could have caught the shooting on camera.

Neighbors also state that at the time of the shooting, the park was full of children who witnessed this take place.

*Update 5/8/2019*

Per Kent Police Commander Kasner they have confirmed the person shot is a 15-year-old male who is still in the hospital. At this time they state this does not appear to be a random attack and the victim possibly knows his attacker.
