Shortly before 6 a.m., a vehicle caught fire in the 3300 block of Washington State Route 530 near Arlington. The owner, who only wanted to be identified as Richard, said that he was driving west on SR 530 heading to Coupeville when he started seeing black smoke coming from the back of his vehicle and pulled over. Shortly after pulling over, the inside of the vehicle caught fire. The driver attempted to use a fire extinguisher but that failed to put out the fire. Local fire crews from Snohomish County District 19 and Washington State Patrol arrived quickly and extinguished the fire. SR 530 was temporarily closed while firefighters were battling the fire.
