Family Displaced After Early Morning House Fire

Two adults, two teens, two dogs displaced after early morning fire.

Auburn WA: Around 6:30 a.m. this morning, crews with Valley Regional Fire Authority and Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority responded to reports of a house fire in the 11400 block of SE 286TH ST in Auburn.

The first engine arrived to find smoke and fire showing from a single story structure. After determining everyone was out of the house, crews began an aggressive effort to save the house and extinguish the fire.

After a few minutes of fighting the fire, the conditions continued to worsen and firefighters were forced to withdraw from the inside of the house and begin a defensive attack (fight fire from the outside of the house).

A family of two adults, two teens, and two dogs have been displaced by the fire. The American Red Cross has been contacted and they will assist the family with finding temporary housing as well as provide with any other immediate needs the family may have.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time, investigators are on the scene. Firefighters will remain on scene for several hours to extinguish any hot spots that may still remain.
