2-Alarm Condo Fire Seriously Injures One in Renton.

*UPDATE* - Renton Fire Officials have determined fireworks left in a garbage can sparked this fire that seriously injured one.

Renton, WA: At around 1:15 a.m., emergency crews started receiving calls of a condo complex on fire at the Merrihill Condos in the 13900 block of SE 173rd Place.

On arrival, crews found heavy smoke and flames coming from a condo unit spreading into the attic space. Crews quickly called for a second alarm.

When crews were able to knock down the flames and enter the affected condo unit, they located one victim inside. That victim was transported to an area trauma center with what fire officials are calling serious injuries.

At this time the cause of the fire is under investigation.
