Five Injured, One Killed in Fiery Crash on I-5

One driver killed and five others injured in eight car pile-up on I-5 in Conway. Freeway closed for unknown duration.

Conway, WA: Emergency crews and the Washington State Patrol responded to an eight car pile-up this morning in the southbound lanes of I-5 near SR-534. Upon arriving, crews found a box truck and another vehicle fully engulfed in flames.

Washington State Patrol has confirmed one driver has been killed and 5 others are being transported to area hospitals. According to the State Patrol, the extent of their injuries are not known but are believed to be non-life-threatening.

The Washington State Department of Transportation states that crews were working the area of this crash and had the freeway restricted to one lane. DOT states this crash occurred just before the construction area and had crews actively working during the time of the crash.
