Gunfire Erupts Outside Hookah Lounge in University Place

A night out turns into a life-threatening situation as gunfire erupts outside a Hookah Lounge in University Place.

University Place, WA: Just after 1 a.m., a Pierce County Deputy on patrol heard what sounded like gunfire in the 1600 block of South Mildred Street in University Place. At the same time a patron of Venus and Mars Hookah Lounge called in reporting gunfire outside the establishment.

When Deputies and mutual aid officers from Tacoma Police Department arrived, they located at least five shell casings on the ground on South Mildred Street.

Police quickly closed down the street for Forensic Services to investigate.

No one was reported injured in the shooting.

Investigation is ongoing at this time
