Homeowner Taken into Protective Custody After Another Fire at Tacoma Residence

Tacoma Fire Officials state that this is not the first time that they have been to this house for a fire.

Tacoma, WA: At around 7:30 p.m., crews with Tacoma Fire were dispatched to a reported residential structure fire in the 800 block of East 56th street. While responding, it was reported that dark colored smoke was seen coming out the front of the home.

When crews arrived, they had light smoke showing and the homeowner standing outside to meet them.

Crews forced entry into the home by breaking down the front door to find a small contents fire just inside the front door.

Crews quickly extinguished the fire and found no extension to the rest of the home.

Officials and neighbors state this is the second fire they have been to at this home. The homeowner was unable to answer why or how the fire started in the home. It was decided by officials on the scene that the male be placed into protective custody.

The homeowner was transported to a nearby hospital for further observation.

No Injuries to report in the fire.
