Investigators Looking into What Sparked Overnight Fire at Denny's in Tacoma

When fire crews arrived they were met with heavy smoke and flames from the roof - fire video courtesy of Lauren Glagavs.

Tacoma, WA: Around around 11:45 p.m., crews with Tacoma Fire were dispatched to a reported commercial structure fire at the Denny's located 5900 6th Avenue just off State Route 16 in Tacoma.

When crews arrived, they were met with heavy smoke and flames coming from the roof of the restaurant.

Crews made a quick, coordinated, and effective interior offensive attack on the fire and were able to get it knocked down within ten minutes of arrival.

The restaurant was closed at the time due to Washington State's "Stay Home, Stay Healthy" order from the Governor's office.

No injuries were reported on the fire ground.

Investigator is on the scene looking into the cause of the fire.
