Late Night Fire Destroys Apartment in Kent

Late night fire in a Kent apartment complex displaces 11 residents and kills two cats.

Kent, WA: Just after 11 p.m., crews from Puget Sound Fire and South King Fire were dispatched to an apartment complex in the 24100 block of 62nd Way S in Kent for a report of an apartment fire on the third floor.

Crews arriving a the complex reported a smoke column and upgraded it to a working fire.

Crews performed a quick hit on the third floor unit and stopped it from spreading further.

No injuries were reported but two cats perished inside of the fire unit.

Puget Sound Fire is reporting the fire was contained to one unit but two others were affected by heat and water displacing a total of 11 residents.

Red Cross was called to assist with the displaced residents.
