Neighborhood Evacuated as SWAT Converges on Federal Way Home

Kent Police Detectives attempted contact with a suspect when a single shot was fired. SWAT called in to assist

Federal Way, WA: Kent Detectives were conducting an investigation into a suspect who resides in Federal Way.

They believed the suspect to be inside and heard a single gunshot from the residence.

Valley SWAT and Negotiators were called to make sure the neighbors remained safe as the team attempted to contact the suspect.

Valley SWAT officers entered the residence and located the suspect deceased of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Kent Detectives will continue with their investigation.

At this time no word from police as to why this male was being investigated. SWAT deployed several flash bang grenades, rubber bullets, and explosive charges in an attempt to take the suspect into custody.


*Update* - According to Kent Police the male suspect “Was being investigated in regards to sex crimes involving family members,” Kent Detective Melanie Robinson stated in an email.
