One Killed in Overnight Crash in Graham

Pierce County Sheriff's Investigating overnight crash that left one dead in Graham.

Update from Pierce County Sheriff's Department:

This morning around 5:50 am a 42-year-old male was driving his 2015 Volkswagen Jetta northbound on the Orting Kapowsin Highway East, heading to work in Auburn.

27-year-old male was driving a 1993 International delivery truck southbound on Orting Kapowsin Highway East.

Truck driver stated, in the 25100 block, he saw the Jetta start to swerve and ultimately slide into his lane of travel.

Truck tried to brake and move over as much as he could, but the Jetta struck the front of his truck with the passenger side.

The 42 year old male was pronounced deceased at the scene.

No evidence of impairment to either driver.

Unknown what caused the Jetta to swerve - no animals seen, no other vehicles on the roadway, no known medical issues. No infractions issued.

Graham, WA: New Overnight the Pierce County Sheriff's Department and Graham Fire and Rescue responded to the block of Orting-Kapowsin Highway in Graham for a collision.

Graham Fire and Rescue is reporting this is a fatal collision and the roadway is closed in both directions.
