Physical Rescue Crash Leaves Vehicle in the Bushes and Sends Two to the Hospital

A two-vehicle crash in Parkland results in the physical rescue of at least one person and leaves a car in the bushes.

Parkland, WA: Just after 8 p.m., emergency crews with Central Pierce Fire and Rescue and the Pierce County Sheriff's Office received reports of a serious injury two-vehicle collision in the 10200 block of Steele Street South.

Upon arrival, crews found one vehicle with heavy damage and one vehicle off the road into the bushes. The vehicle with heavy damage had at least one occupant that could not free themselves from the vehicle.

Crews performed a physical rescue by spreading the roof and removing the occupant through the rear window.

The Battalion Chief for Central Pierce could not comment on the patient conditions but did state it took crews about ten minutes to free the occupants.

Two people were transported from the scene. On camera they were both conscious and appeared to be communicating with first responders.

Pierce County Sheriff's Office is investigating the cause of this collision.
