Police, Postal Inspectors Arrest Suspected Prolific Package Thief

34-year-old woman is behind bars after prolific mail thief is arrested in Georgetown

Seattle, WA: South Precinct detectives and patrol officers working with US Postal Inspectors, arrested a suspected prolific mail thief in Georgetown on Wednesday.

Investigators believe the 34-year-old woman has been stealing packages, mail, and credit cards in the Beacon Hill area, and then using those cards to purchase items at area stores.

Postal inspectors located the suspect Wednesday morning near 4th Avenue and Michigan Street and called police. Officers found the woman had a Department of Corrections warrant, and located a garbage bag full of mail in the vehicle she was riding in, and booked her into jail.
