Seattle Police and Federal Agents Inspect Suspicious Package in Post Office

Federal Agents and Seattle Police Bomb Squad respond to University District Post Office for a suspicious package.

Seattle, WA: Around 10 p.m., agents with the United States Postal Inspection observed a suspicious unmarked box that was out of place inside the sorting area of the University District Post Office.

Out of caution, the agents contacted the Seattle Police Bomb and Arson Squad and the F.B.I to investigate further.

According to Seattle Police, it took officers about an hour to examine and detonate the package in a secure area. Once it was opened, its contents proved to be harmless.

During the investigation, roads were closed in the area. They have since been reopened.
