Shooting Leaves One Dead and One with Critical Injuries in West Tacoma
Tacoma, WA: Tacoma Police state they received a call at around 11:43 p.m. from a male caller in the 1400 block of South Union stating, "you better hurry up" and then hung up.
When officers arrived, they were flagged down by a male outside the home with several apparent gunshot wounds. Officers immediately called for medical aid and started life-saving measures on the male victim to include applying a tourniquet.
While the initial officers tended to the male victim, other officers entered the home. When they entered, they found a female face down on the ground suffering from several gunshot wounds deceased.
Detectives are canvassing the neighborhood looking for anyone that witnessed or video of this shooting. As of right now, the suspect(s) in this case are still on the loose and no motive has been established for the shooting.
The male victim was transported to Tacoma General in critical condition.
Forensics and detectives responded to the scene and are investigating.
This is the first homicide of April after a particularly violent March with seven homicides in the City of Tacoma. No one homicide appears to be linked per Tacoma Police.
