String of Robberies has Federal Way Neighborhood on Edge

Two days, two robberies leave the neighbors along 1st Avenue South in Federal Way on edge over safety concerns.

Federal Way, WA: Federal Way Police Department are investigating an armed robbery at the Subway in the 32800 block of 1st Ave South. This is the second robbery in as many days along 1st Avenue South.

Yesterday Federal Way Police responded to the 7-Eleven store off S 312th and 1st Avenue South after it was reported two males robbed that location of an unknown amount of cash or merchandise. It was unclear if a weapon was implied or used in that crime.

Statement from Federal Way Police -

At about noon, officers responded to reports of a robbery at the Subway store in the 32800 block of 1st Ave S. Two males entered the business armed with what appeared to be handguns and robbed the employee of money from the till. The suspects then fled on foot.

Officers arrived quickly and have detained what we believe is one of the suspects and are currently conducting a search for the second with assistance from a Renton K-9 unit and King County Sheriff's Office Guardian One.

There have been no reported injuries.

We can not confirm at this time that the suspects in today's robbery are the same as the 7-Eleven robbery yesterday.

This investigation is active and ongoing.

This has put neighbors, like many who live across the street, on edge as they have been seeing a steady increase in more dangerous or even violent type of crimes.
