Suspects in Custody After Armed Robbery in Tacoma

Two suspects were taken into custody after an alert officer spotted the getaway vehicle after armed robbery.

Tacoma, WA: At around 9:43 p.m., Tacoma Police received a report of an armed robbery at the 7-Eleven in the 2600 block of South Tacoma Way. While officers were responding, the victim was able to provide a a description of the suspect fleeing in an older white Ford Crown Victoria.

An alert officer responding to the robbery spotted a vehicle matching that description on south 38th and started to follow it.

Several other officers arrived and a high risk felony stop was conducted on the vehicle and several subjects were detained.

Per Tacoma Police, two of the suspects in the vehicle are now in custody for investigation of first degree robbery. The vehicle involved was sealed off with evidence tape and will be impounded for a search warrant.

Police are looking into the possibility these subjects were involved in other robberies in the Tacoma area. At this time, Tacoma Police state they do not know if they are involved in other robberies and it is under investigation.
