Two-Alarm Fire Destroys Multiple Homes in Seattle's Mt. Baker Neighborhood

Exterior fire in Seattle's Rainier Valley spreads to multiple homes, displaces the occupants.

Seattle, WA: Just after 9:45 p.m., Seattle Fire department received a report of an exterior fire in the 3200 block of 37th Avenue South in Seattle's Mt. Baker neighborhood. Upon arriving, crews found that the fire had extended in back side of two homes.

Crews initiated an aggressive fire attack and were able to get the fire under control in about thirty minutes.

Crews condition a primary and secondary search of the homes and no occupants were found. Seattle Fire PIO David Cuerpo states both homes were occupied at the time and those occupants safely evacuated with no injuries.

Seattle Fire Department is encouraging anyone within a block radius to keep their windows closed due to the large volume of smoke and hazards that can create.

No word on a cause at this time and investigators are responding.
