Two Firefighters Escape Injury After Falling Through Floor in Kent House Fire

The Firefighters fell through the floor into the basement but thankfully were not injured as a result.

Kent, WA: At around 3:00 a.m., firefighters with Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority were called to the 2340 block of 116th Avenue Southeast in Kent for a residential structure fire.

When crews arrived, they found the rear of the home fully engulfed in flames.

Crews initiated an aggressive offensive attack to extinguish the blaze. During that attack, two firefighters fell through the floor and into the basement of the home. They were briefly trapped for about 5 minutes after falling but managed to free themselves and exit the home. Thankfully they were not injured.

The fire is now out and under investigation. The home was not occupied at the time time and fire officials are trying to locate the owner.
