Two Pets Die in Fast Moving Maple Valley Mobile Home Fire

Crews with Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority fought fast moving flames in this morning house fire in Maple Valley.

Maple Valley, WA: Just before 11 a.m., crews with Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority responded for a report of a residential structure fire in the 27400 block of 220th Place Southeast in Maple Valley.

When crews arrived, they found a modular home with smoke and flames showing.

Crews made an aggressive attack and were able to get the fire under control quickly.

Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority did state there were no injuries to the occupants or firefighters.

Sadly the occupants cat and dog were found deceased in this fire.

According to fire officials the older gentleman occupant saw a flame from a medical oxygen bottle that was in the home and moved quickly to evacuate his wife.

Fire officials state the fire moved so quickly that the pets were unable to be rescued.

King County Sheriff's Office fire investigators are looking into the cause.

The Red Cross is assisting the occupants displaced by this fire. The home was boarded up free of charge from a local fire restoration company by the name of BELFOR
