Chelan, WA: Around 6:30 p.m., emergency crews with Chelan County Sheriff's Office and Chelan Fire Department responded to a report of an occupied vehicle driving off the road into Lake Chelan.

This occurred on State Route 150 at around milepost 4 right at the city limits to Chelan.

When crews arrived they found a vehicle in the water and a female, reported as the driver, on the side of the road after being pulled out by passing motorists.

According to witness Bob Wallace, they were traveling in the opposite lanes of the vehicle and were 100 yards away when they suddenly saw the vehicle leave the road and enter the water. Bob immediately stopped and jumped into the lake in attempt to get to the driver.
