*UPDATED* Shooting Leaves 14-Year-Old Female Student Injured in Federal Way

A teenage female walking with two friends was shot at least once in the leg outside an apartment complex in Federal Way.

*Update* - Statement from Federal Way Police

Officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1900 block of SW 320th Street at about 12:30PM. Once of scene they located a 14-year-old female victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound(s) to her legs. She was treated on scene by Medics and then transported to Harborview with non-life threatening injuries.

Apparently, this incident was the result of what was supposed to be a fight between multiple individuals. All of the involved parties are known to each other. This was not a random incident. At some point, one of the males that was supposed to be involved in the fight pulled out a handgun and fired two rounds. One or both of those rounds, it is unclear at this time, struck the female victim who was there to watch the fight. Detectives are continuing their investigation into the incident and expect to identified all those involved very soon.

No suspects are in custody and no further information is available at this time.

Federal Way, WA: Just after 12:30 p.m. today, emergency crews received reports of a shooting in the 2100 block of SW 322nd Place in Federal Way. When crews arrived, they found a 14-year-old female on the ground suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the leg.

That female was treated and transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with reported non-life-threatening injuries.

At this time, Federal Way Police are investigating and have not released any information if the group was walking home from school or what brought them to the area. There were two teenage witnesses on the scene being interviewed by police.
