Wild Pursuit Tears Through the Streets of Tacoma This Evening


The pursuit started at the Ruston waterfront where the suspect fled in a stolen vehicle with a boat attached.

Tacoma, WA: Tacoma Police state they attempted to stop the driver of a stolen vehicle at the Ruston waterfront this evening. The driver took off striking several vehicles in the stolen vehicle with a boat attached on a trailer.

The pursuit involved winding through the streets of Tacoma as the suspect tore south attempting to escape police.

The suspect almost struck several pedestrians before hitting another vehicle head-on at South 74th and Tacoma Mall Boulevard. The stolen vehicle and boat ended up in the bushes before the male suspect decided to take off on foot.

The suspect, a 36-year-old male, was taken into custody a short time later.

Tacoma Police state this vehicle is the one the Puget Sound Auto Theft Task Force and Gig Harbor Police have been searching for since April 15th. In that case, a male paid for the black Range Rover with a fake $13,000 cashier's check.

The suspect is expected to be booked into Pierce County Jail on 2 counts of felony assault 1st degree, Hit-and-Run unattended, possession of stolen property, DUI, felony eluding, and on a felony Domestic Violence Warrant.

The driver, of the vehicle the suspect hit head-on, only received minor injuries thankfully.

So he was out of shape and got winded as he WOUND through the streets , maybe English lessons are needed in the future.
