Firefighters Rescue Disabled Resident From Intense Mobile Home Fire


Firefighters pull disabled elderly resident from burning mobile home.

June 13, 2019: At around 8:30 p.m., Ponderosa Fire Department responded for multiple 911 calls for a fully involved mobile home fire in the 17600 block of Bamwood Road. Crews arrived to find a mobile home fully involved in flames. While setting up to fight the fire, they were advised by bystanders that there was a disabled elderly man in an adjacent mobile home that was starting to catch on fire. Firefighters quickly went into rescue mode, secured the elderly patient and physically lifted him from his home before handing him over to Cypress Creek EMS. While fighting the fire, two firefighters were injured. The injuries sustained to the firefighters are non-life-threatening. Harris County Fire Marshal's office is on location trying to determine the cause and origin of the fire at this time. Updates to follow...
