While the Baltimore Police Department continues to deny it has no idea why they arrested Freddie Gray or how he ended up with a broken back, resulting in his death a week later, an incident report has surfaced stating that the 27-year-old man “was arrested without force or incident.”
We know that to be a lie because two videos recorded by witnesses show Gray screaming in excruciating pain as several police officers drag him into the back of a police van.
It appears that his back had already been broken because his legs were dragging behind him.
“His legs broken, you’re all dragging him like that,” a woman yells as she records.
The report also states that Gray “fled unprovoked upon noticing police presence ” and that after they caught up with him and detained him, “the officer noticed a knife clipped to the inside of his front right pants pocket,” which turned out to be a switchblade, which is illegal in Maryland.
And the report states the knife was taken into possession by police.
However, if that is truly the case, then why haven’t police come out and said this?
