A Mississippi cop is in deep trouble after being charged with molesting a girl from 2018 to 2020

On March 26, the Jones County Sheriff’s Department arrested Ellisville Police Department Officer David Luna, 44.

Luna is accused of molesting a female child in Ellisville, Mississippi. Jones County Sheriff Joe Berlin said Luna was charged with two counts of molesting-touching a child for lustful purposes. According to WLBT News the charges stem from allegations that Luna began molesting a girl in mid-2018 and continued into January 2020.

Luna is accused of touching a young girl in her private areas at least three times between mid-2018 and January 2020, according to the affidavit.

The accusations were brought to the attention of the Jones County Sheriff’s Department on a referral from Child Protective Services on March 20 after a “family friend” got the victim to tell authorities what allegedly had happened to her.

The victim is a girl who is related to Luna and under the age of 16. The victim underwent a forensic interview with a child specialist and another interview with Sgt. Priscilla Pitts, according to the affidavit.

The district attorney's office reviewed the case and Luna was arrested. Luna is scheduled make his initial court appearance on March 27 in Jones County Justice Court.
