NYPD Cops Bully Man Dancing in the Street for Ellen Degeneres Video
Making it clear they are, indeed, a “wartime” police department, a pack of New York City police officers bullied a scrawny man for dancing in the street, shoving him against a police van and frisking him as they insulted him with profanities before throwing him to the street like discarded garbage.
It was a chilling scene straight out of Goodfella’s.
The Blue Mafia at its finest.
It’s a wonder they didn’t go after the videographer as well but perhaps they just don’t care anymore after declaring war on the city, its people and especially its mayor.
They, of course, will justify it by the shooting of two cops earlier this month, whom were executed in their car, claiming they were in fear for their lives when a man walked up behind them to perform a silly dance ritual for the Ellen Degeneres Show.
The incident took place on Christmas Eve as people were scurrying home from last minute shopping.
Alexander BOK, as he calls himself on Youtube, had spent the day walking up behind complete strangers to do his dance routine, planning on submitting the clips to the #DanceDares, where fans of Degeneres’ show submit clips of themselves dancing in random places in public.
Towards the evening, BOK walked up a few feet from a cop standing in front of a police van next to another cop with another cop sitting in the driver’s seat.
He began dancing as another man with shopping bags walked even closer to the cop, so BOK wasn’t exactly invading his personal space.
But his dance routine prompted the driver to step out and the other cops to turn around and confront him. He was wearing a microphone, so the audio is very clear.
“What the fuck are you doing behind me?” the cop asks.
“I”m jus dancing,” BOK responds.
“Are you fucking kidding me? What’s wrong with you?” the cop asks. “What are you dancing in the street for?”
Captions on the video during an edit state that BOK explained what he was doing, so we should assume they were aware of the videographer, who didn’t appear to be hiding the camera judging by the other people’s reactions from BOK’s dancing when they acknowledged the camera.
Ever since the slaying of two NYPD cops earlier this month, the police union boss, Patrick Lynch, has been waging an all-out war with Mayor Bill de Blasio, accusing him of being responsible for the killings and having blood on his hands.
All because de Blasio publicly admitted that he fears for his afro-sporting, biracial son at the hands of the NYPD because they have a notorious reputation for profiling black youths.
The Huffington Post explains:
De Blasio addressed the nation in a live press conference Wednesday shortly after a grand jury announced its decision not to indict NYPD Officer Daniel Pantaleo, who placed Garner in a prohibited police chokehold during an attempted arrest on July 17, killing him.
In his remarks Wednesday, the mayor, who is white, mentioned his son Dante, who is 16 and biracial. He spoke about the dangers Dante may face when interacting with police.
“This is profoundly personal to me,” de Blasio said. “I was at the White House the other day, and the president of the United States turned to me, and he met Dante a few months ago, and he said that Dante reminded him of what he looked like as a teenager. And he said, ‘I know you see this crisis through a very personal lens.’ And I said to him, I did.”
De Blasio went on to note that he and his wife, Chirlane McCray, who is black, “have had to talk to Dante for years about the dangers that he may face.”
The mayor described his son as “a good young man, [a] law-abiding young man who would never think to do anything wrong” — but he noted that “because of a history that still hangs over us, the dangers he may face, we’ve had to literally train him, as families have all over this city for decades, in how to take special care in any encounter he has with the police officers who are there to protect him.”
That’s it. Well, that and the fact that he ran on a platform of police reform, vowing to end the NYPD’s unconstitutional habit of stop-and-frisk on citizens who have done nothing reasonably suspicious, which is the legal standard in order to be frisked.
But the NYPD has been making its own rules for decades. As the nation’s largest police force with more than 34,000 officers, whom former mayor Michael Bloomberg referred to as the “seventh biggest army in the world,” they have made it clear that they are not going to accept any type of police reform willingly.
After the shooting this month, an email from the union was circulated through the NYPD stating the following:
“IN ADDITION: Absolutely NO enforcement action in the form of arrests and or summonses is to be taken unless absolutely necessary and an individual MUST be placed under arrest,” the statement said.
“These are precautions that were taken in the 1970s when police officers were ambushed and executed on a regular basis,” the statement added.
“We have, for the first time in a number of years, become a ‘wartime’ Police Department,” the message concluded. “We will act accordingly. FORWARD MESSAGE IN ITS ENTIRETY TO ANY AND ALL [members of the service.]”
Officers have also displayed a complete disregard for de Blasio, turning their backs on him during the funeral of the officers on Saturday. Even NYPD police cadets, who haven’t spent a single day on the beat, turned their backs on him while booing him during police academy graduation ceremony earlier today.
But de Blasio received an overwhelming 73 percent of the vote last year, more than 750,000 people, winning by one of the largest margins in decades.
So the NYPD is not just turning their backs on the mayor. They are turning their backs on the people.
And they are no longer pretending to do otherwise.
Below is the video confrontation with the cops followed by the longer video of him dancing behind other people.
