The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division has announced the Monday, February 4, 2019 arrest of Sumter, South Carolina police officer Travis Haynes. Haynes admitted to having sex with a woman while he was on duty.
Haynes was a cop with the Sumter Police Department, he was fired on Monday.
According to the arrest warrant, Haynes participated in consensual oral and sexual intercourse with a woman at her home while he was on duty in June 2018. Haynes was employed as a sergeant at the time of the incident, WISTV reports.
Haynes gave a statement to authorities admitting to the acts. Haynes has been charged with misconduct in office and has been booked at the Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center. This case will be investigated by the Third Judicial Circuit Solicitor's Office.
