California College Instructor Calls Cops on Student for using Student Shower

Homeless students in California are able to take showers on campus, but that didnt stop an instructor from calling cops.

Alfredo Gama was met by two L.A. sheriff deputies after walking out of the shower at his local college in the Los Angeles Community College District late Tuesday night.

Gama, a student facing homelessness, just finished his 9 p.m. calculus class and decided to use the showers provided for students to use.

He was met by deputies after stepping out of the shower. An instructor had called them who thought Gama didn't "look" like a student and was using school resources. The instructor was incorrect.

Gama took to Facebook posting pictures of the deputies while expressing how he felt about the situation.

According to the Facebook post:

"I don’t have words. I’m embarrassed, frustrated and thinking about how the fuck ima keep playing nice when two fucking cops escorted me outta the fucking shower."

Gama stated that he was barely dressed when approached by the deputies making him feel embarrassed and confused.

Gama wrote that it was not until he showed the officers his Los Angeles Community College District Student Trustee business card that they believed he was a student.

Gamas' Facebook post continued:

"I’m one of the thousands of students in Los Angeles Community College District going through housing insecurity and homelessness. Im one of the students WHY STATE LAW MANDATES COLLEGES TO ALLOW HOMELESS STUDENTS TO SHOWER. I’m one of the students LACCD does not give a shit about, criminalizes and systematically pushes out. They will.... fucking not."

The law Gama referred to was AB 1995 which requires a community college campus to grant access to any homeless student if the college provides students a shower, as defined under the federal McKinney Vento Homeless Assistance Act.

"One in every 5 of the Los Angeles Community College District’s 230,000 students is homeless, and nearly two-thirds can’t afford to eat properly," according to a study done by USC Homeless Initiative.

You know, there are a lot of extremely strange people at college. That's why I decided to leave it. But there is a problem. I need to write my resume but I can't do it well. I think I need the help of

He won't be homeless anymore once he sues the school and the teacher that turned him in.
