Video from Off-Duty LAPD Costco Shooting only Captured "Parts of the Encounter"

Two sharply contrasting stories have surfaced since the shooting death of Kenneth French, a mentally disabled man.

It's been one week since an off-duty Los Angeles police officer shot and killed a non-verbal mentally disabled man inside a Southern California Costco and the public has yet to see the surveillance video.

Instead, we are told we must be patient and allow the Corona and the Los Angeles police departments to conduct their respective investigations which can take weeks or months, according to the Los Angeles Times.

It also appears that police are preparing the public into seeing an incomplete video by telling the L.A. Times that only "parts of the encounter" was recorded by the Costco surveillance camera.

Two sharply different accounts have emerged. Officials said there was video showing at least parts of the encounter, but that video has not yet been released.

The officer’s attorney, David Winslow, said his client was getting a food sample for his son when he was attacked and briefly knocked out by French.

“He was shopping with his wife and 1½-year-old at Costco. His son was in his arms, and he was feeding his son some samples when, within seconds, he was on the ground and woke up from being unconscious and he was fighting for his life,” Winslow said.

The French family attorney, Dale K. Galipo, said Kenneth French pushed the officer in the food sample line but that the exchange wasn’t justification for a shooting.

Having seen the video, Galipo said Kenneth French was likely off his regular medication to push the officer but nothing he saw in the video justified the shooting.

He said the victim's father tried to intervene by stepping in between the two but the cop pulled out his gun and shot three people, killing the son and wounding his parents.

Galipo makes no mention of the cop being knocked out so perhaps that is the missing parts police are talking about.

All we know for certain is that the cop's name is Salvador Sanchez and that he has been placed on paid administrative leave.

Parents Russell and Paola French were listed in critical condition and neither have given any statements to police. And it does not appear as if Corona police have made any serious attempt at interrogating Sanchez for shooting three unarmed people and killing one over what may have been a case of food rage.

The LAPD is conducting an administrative investigation to determine whether he violated any departmental policies while the Corona Police Department is conducting the criminal investigation where they said they are still talking to witnesses, probably hoping to find one that will support the cop narrative.

Yep riverside county d. a. Office hasn't filed yet as of Labor Day ,This incident changes the way I will deal with the police for the rest of my life...... On PAID leave too don't forget about that..... for shooting an old lady in the back in addition to murdering her son and shooting her husband

The only reason we haven't seen the video yet is because it clearly shows that the officer had no justification for the use of deadly force. Must give police time to concoct a story. If the video footage exonerated the officer it would have been released before now.

District Attorney Mike Hestrin told City News Service that Corona police detectives submitted the case file without a specific recommendation. ......................................... CODE for "we investigated ourselves and found that we did nothing wrong". now the DA is looking for the smallest charge to file on the MURDERING piggy.
since this is now a high profile case, the piggy will get charged with something. and probably won't get more then 4yrs for MURDER.........

It's all about supporting the cop's story isn't it. Giving him every benefit of the doubt that the police would not give the average Joe. Not arresting the guy alone is huge as it all starts with an arrest in the "justice system."

Where is the full video????? There obviously is one and the fact that it is not being released is a crime of it own. This is an open and transparent world and everyone should be held accountable for their actions. Release the video!!!! This would NEVVEERRR happen in Canada. Who brings a gun to a Costco??? Who opens fire in a public place with many families???? The police officer committed an act of terrorism by opening fire in a grocery store. Canadians are NOT happy with what has happens and we are holding a mass here for Kenneth and his family. We have a go fund me page for Kenneth and his family. Must be nice to be paid off duty for shooting innocent people. Absolutely disgraceful and disrespectful.

WE WANT THE VIDEO!!!!!!!!!! police interrogation- what happened? and that is your story. OK that MUST be the truth...................................................... witnesses- we can't find any witnesses that has our narrative of the truth. got to keep looking.............. meanwhile we still have to victim blame.......................... i am forming a better picture of what happened, it still looks bad for the cop!!!!!!!! if there evidence gathering is as bad as the Huston drug bust gone wrong, this PUNK ASS PIG will get a freebie.......................
