WATCH: Florida Man does Impressive Somersault before Assaulting Cop with Taser
A Florida man somersaulted his way into custody Saturday after he came charging towards a group of Sumter County sheriff's deputies with their weapons drawn, assaulting a deputy with a taser before another one took him down.
While it was not a perfect somersault it was impressive nonetheless. Even more impressive was how the deputies held their fire despite the man not only charging towards them but he was also alleged to have been shooting at cars on the highway, shattering the window of at least one car.
Miguel Navarro, 41, was arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, assault, battery, criminal mischief, and resisting an officer.
According to 12 News:
The Sumter County Sheriff's Office responded to a call of shots fired on the highway near mile marker 309 on Saturday.
Callers saw a man in a Ford truck with a gun shooting at cars.
The sheriff's office said the suspect rear-ended a car near Bushnell before wrecking at mile marker 317. He engaged in a standoff with deputies and waved his gun around before throwing it down. But instead of surrendering, deputies said he hopped back into his vehicle and drove away.
Deputies said the suspect crashed a second time. As he started to rush deputies pulled out their rifles, but one deputy decided to go with his Taser. The suspect ran toward deputies, did a somersault, and scuffled with one deputy before others managed to get handcuffs on him.
