Complex seeding aside, Gonzaga remains the NCAA team to beat this year. The Zags are 26-0 this regular season and have one of the greatest ever teams in men's college basketball, including top NBA prospects Jalen Suggs and Corey Kispert.

Baylor, Michigan and Houston are looking strong, but expect plenty of shouts of "Roll Tide!" as Alabama carve their way towards the championship game. That Loyola Chicago Cinderella could be on, too.

The Sweet 16 takes place Sat 27th – Sun 28th March, followed by the Elite Eight on Mon 29th - Tues 30th. The Final Four semi finalists go head-to-head on 3rd April. Then it's the Big Dance – the 2021 NCAA national championship game – on 5th April, live on CBS.

Games will be played on two courts inside Lucas Oil Stadium, as well as – deep breath – Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Indiana Farmers Coliseum, Hinkle Fieldhouse, Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington and Mackey Arena in West Lafayette.

Our first No. 1 seed was bounced as Loyola-Chicago knocked out Illinois. Oral Roberts became just the second No. 2 seed to ever reach the Sweet 16 by pulling off another upset vs. No. 7 Florida. And Syracuse found a way to advance out of the second round as a double-digit seed once again.

We know for sure we'll get at least one more double-digit seed in the Sweet 16 as No. 11 UCLA squares off with No. 14 Abilene Christian on Monday. But will we get more madness beyond that? We'll soon find out as eight more second-round games are played Monday between teams from the East and West regions.

The NCAA men’s basketball tournament continued Saturday with what was supposed to be 16 more first-round games. But a few hours before the scheduled tip-off of Oregon-VCU, the NCAA announced the game would not be played and Oregon would advance after an issue with covid protocols in VCU’s program.

Advancing alongside Oregon are two opportunistic mid-majors. Ohio’s Ben Vander Plas sank timely three-pointers to help the 13th-seeded Bobcats expel the 2019 national champion and fourth-seeded Virginia Cavaliers. Virginia bowed out in the first round for the second time in the past three NCAA tournaments while Ohio is headed to a second-round matchup with Creighton on Monday.

Virginia, which was upset in the first round of the 2018 tournament before winning it all in 2019, suffered another upset loss, this time to Ohio.
As a 10-seed, Maryland put forward an impressive defensive performance to beat U-Conn.
Georgetown, which stormed through last week’s Big East Tournament to a stunning win, was brought crashing back to earth.
Michigan, the top seed in the East region, took care of business against Texas Southern.

The NCAA on Saturday responded to the outcry regarding the disparities between the facilities provided for the men’s and women’s tournaments with what appears to be a large, state-of-the-art weight room at the San Antonio site of the women’s tournament.
The women’s tournament starts Sunday. Find the bracket and schedule here.

Abilene Christian earned its first men’s tournament win early Sunday morning, stunning No. 3 Texas and setting up the second round’s lowest-seeded matchup between the No. 14 Wildcats and No. 11 UCLA in the East region on Monday.

The second round will also include Colorado, which sent Georgetown packing Saturday. The Hoyas were making their first trip to the NCAA men’s basketball tournament since 2015 before being bounced by the Buffaloes, who sank 16 of 25 from beyond the arc in a rout.
