Hospital security guard sexually assaults female patient

A security guard in Lancaster, SC is facing serious charges after authorities say he sexually assaulted a patient at Springs Memorial Hospital.

Dontrail Campbell, 21, has been charged with third degree criminal sexual conduct. Campbell was assigned with overseeing the safety of a female victim after she was admitted to the hospital for an evaluation on January 8.

On the same day she was awakened by Campbell as he was sexually assaulting her. Campbell confessed to the assault during an interview with police. Campbell was a security guard working for a contract company named Allied Universal at the time of the sexual assault.

Campbell has now been fired from Allied Universal, The Herald Online reports.

Page Vaughan, Springs Memorial Hospital CEO released the following statement:

“The safety of our patients is our highest responsibility. We are cooperating fully with law enforcement in their investigation and they will be your best source for information.”

Allied Universal issued this statement:

“We deeply regret the incident that occurred at Springs Memorial Hospital, as it in no way reflects the professionalism that we expect of all Allied Universal personnel. As such, we have terminated the security officer for his actions in this situation as well as the site supervisor for not following proper company protocols. Our team will undergo additional training to help ensure that we uphold our standards of serving the Springs memorial Hospital community with care and professionalism.”

Allied Universal has more than 200,000 security employees at more than 42,000 sites in North America.
