Viral Video of Burning Man in Front of Miami Cemetery Likely Suicide
A video posted to Live Leak Monday, showing a human figure on fire in front of a Miami cemetery raised all kinds of questions from commenters, wondering if it was a homicide, a suicide or just a prank involving a mannequin.
The PINAC Newsroom reached out to Miami-Dade Fire-Rescue and as of now, the incident is likely a suicide.
While this is not normally something we would cover, the fact that it was recorded by a member of the public and posted to the internet makes it an act of citizen journalism, which is something we encourage, although please call 911 before recording.
And while suicides is something the media normally doesn’t report on because of the sensitivity of the issue, the fact that this was done in front of a cemetery on the side of one of the busiest thoroughfares in Miami, then was posted on the internet, where it now has more than 74,000 views, makes it necessary for us to provide the facts.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Rescue says the call initially came in as a brush fire Sunday at 5:22 p.m. in front of the Graceland Memorial Park, 4420 S.W. 8 St.
Miami-Dade police are still investigating the incident, but evidence as of now indicates suicide.
