Deepfakes: they create false influencers with Down’s syndrome to sell erotic content

By: Elora Bain

The advent of artificial intelligence has made the creation of Deepfakes extremely easy. This practice which consists in creating content by grafting the face of one person on another has spread online, and its use was obviously diverted for dishonest purposes. The phenomenon is increasingly considered a serious problem by the authorities, especially because it allows you to create pornographic videos using the face of non -consenting people.

Did you think you’ve touched the bottom? Not so fast. When it comes to exploiting human credulity in defiance of all the rules of decorum (and in defiance of the laws), man has resources. Some Deepfake video creators have therefore decided to steal the contents of influencer to change their faces so that they are believed to be damaged of Down’s syndrome. Why? For money of course.

The content thieves download the influencer videos on social networks or the photos of creators of erotic or pornographic content. They then just enter the extracts in generation software by AI to modify the face and give it features similar to those of a person suffering from this genetic anomaly. The rendering, rather credible if we do not linger on the details by scrolling on Instagram, is then staged to make a real content of content believe.

“”They all criticize my Down’s syndrome until … I decide to wear tight clothes», Can we read in legend a video presenting a young woman. And the worst is that it works. By responding to the request for niche fetishism, these accounts aggregate followers and Likes. The online magazine 404 Media notes that some bring together tens of thousands of subscribers on Instagram, the most influential reaching 148,000 followers when we write these lines.

The organization of a network

This phenomenon is not a simple anomaly but is part of an organized system, aiming above all to monetize stolen content. Each Instagram account concerned returns as a rule to an Onlyfans page – a platform for the consumption of paid content, often erotic or pornographic – on which it is possible to subscribe to a subscription. By its investigation, 404 Media determined that these different accounts operated as a network, the multiple Instagram accounts generally referring to a few recurring Onlyfans.

Born on Instagram, the trend is now spreading elsewhere on the internet. On February 8, 2025 was launched on the Reddit platform a community called “R/Pussydownsyndrom” exclusively publishing posts referring to these Onlyfans accounts.

The AI has not lost time to reconcile certain sexual fetishes of niche and pornography, to hope to make money. 404 Media evokes another trend linked to Deepfakes, this time surfing on erotic models … amputeed. An account dedicated to this content brings together more than 160,000 subscribers, again in line with the links to paid content.
